This display represents me and my day through color, compositional strategies, and layout. My day always starts with a cup of tea. It wakes me up and, for awhile I am able to relax and think about what I need to do for the day. The use of framing shows this, as I am able to focus and think about what I need to during this time. I always have black tea with both milk and sugar. I think its much more refreshing than coffee, and wakes me up just as well. After my tea, I get ready for school. I usually do my makeup first. The use of repetition and pattern in this photo shows how my routine has become habit and repetitive. I do it without thinking and have a system I go through every morning. I keep my makeup more natural, and always do exactly the same thing. I never really experiment with things like others. I have a certain style and I haven't changed it for a few years. I then go get dressed. I shot a picture of my closet form a worms eye view in order to portray the importance of clothes in my life. My outfit can determine the kind of day I have. A really good choice can give me the confidence I need throughout the day, while a bad choice can make me feel uncomfortable. I usually like to dress up a little, and wear something different everyday. I then leave for school. I usually leave around 7:10, so I am able to see the sunrise on my way to school. Everyday it looks a little different, but it is always beautiful and refreshing. Once I get to school, I am on a strict schedule that is determined by the clock. The curved line in the photo of the clock suggests the cyclic routine of school, as every day, although interesting and fun, is seemingly the same. When I get tired of a class, I find myself counting down the minuets; or when I am taking a test, I find myself wishing I had more time. Time becomes a large part of my day. I then go home for awhile and have a snack and unwind from my day at school. I usually have a fruit, and the photo I took highlights the refreshing quality of fruit. I used unity to signify the way I relax and pull myself together after school. I then go to a rehearsal of some sort, either violin or voice. The horizon technique used shows the way my life is compartmentalized and sectioned between school and extra curricular activities. Rehearsal acts as both a release and a restorative, but it is not really relaxing. I am finally able to relax when I get home. It is usually late, and I take a shower immediately. The photo of the water, with the use of diagonal lines, shows the calming effect of the water. After my shower I start my homework. I try to always do it in an organized fashion, as represented by my use of symmetry in my photo. It is often hard but I tend to enjoy it. I love reading, especially novels for English. Finally, I am able to go to bed. My cat always comes in my room, and sleeps right next to me. I used the rule of thirds to emphasize her closed eyes, as to me she symbolizes sleep and rest. The color changes between my two compositions signify the differences between morning and evening for me. I think of mornings as harsh and exciting, represented by cool colors. I think of evenings as relaxing and inviting. I used warm colors in this composition to portray those feelings.
